About PocketJournal
PocketJournal is an application designed to make Microsoft Outlook and your Palm handheld device a powerful Contact Management combination. PocketJournal has two components, one that runs on your handheld and the other that runs on your PC. This combination gives you the power to edit Journal information in either your handheld or Outlook and synchronize the two with a push of a button.
The PocketJournal handheld application is used to enter new activities associated with a specific contact. It can also let the user view a history of activities by contact or company. Each time you enter a new activity into PocketJournal it automatically time stamps the activity and attaches the information to a specific contact which is selectable from your handheld's Address Book. The activity has editable Subject, Type, Body, Category and Notes fields. You can create a custom list of Types and Subjects. The predefined Types are 'Conversation', Received Voice mail', 'Left Message' and 'Phone Call'.
The PC component of PocketJournal is a synchronization application (conduit) that updates Outlook with the PocketJournal handheld information and updates the handheld with Outlook Journal data. It is a full two-way synchronization similar to Chapura's PocketMirror product. Simply push the button on your Palm cradle and the HotSync Technology in combination with PocketJournal updates all your Journal information.
The PocketJournal conduit also has a powerful filtering option that allows you to keep only select information on the handheld with the remainder of the information safely stored in your Outlook Journal.
PocketJournal is designed to help you manage your phone calls in a number of ways. With PocketJournal, you can create a list of people to call back, a record of conversations regarding a particular subject, a log of phone numbers called to compare against your bill, and lots more. In fact, PocketJournal can be used to track meetings, e-mails, and other kinds of contacts.
